Abnehmspritzen sind zurzeit DER Hype: Ursprünglich als Diabetes-Medikament entwickelt und auch erfolgreich bei Adipositas angewendet, gelten sie inzwischen bei vielen als Lifestyle-Arzneimittel gegen ungeliebte Fettpölsterchen. Die Wirkstoffe in Ozempic, Wegovy & Co. sind sogenannte GLP-1-Rezeptor-Agonisten wie zum Beispiel Semaglutid. Diese ahmen die Wirkung des Darmhormons GLP-1 nach. Das erzeugt im Gehirn das Gefühl der Sättigung und verlangsamt außerdem die Magenentleerung. GLP-1-Pflaster enthalten gar kein GLP-1 Vorwurf der Verbraucherschützer: Die Pflaster-Hersteller täuschten vor, der Wirk-Mechanismus wäre dem der Spritzen ähnlich und man könne auch mit Patches effektiv abnehmen. Diese seien laut Werbung das „Ozempic der Natur“. Und die Inhaltsstoffe würden in verschiedenen Studien „erwähnt“. „Bullshit!“ nennen die Verbraucherzentralen auf Instagram diese Werbe-Versprechen.
